Here are the details of this online workshop:•2x 3 hour sessions over the course of a weekend on zoom. We will complete one watercolor painting by the end of the workshop, with each class beginning at 9:30am PST. We will all paint together live as a small group to facilitate deep learning and provide supportive community among fellow watercolor painters. Don't worry, we will take a couple of breaks!•Get step by step demonstrations on how to execute the major phases of a realistic yet expressive watercolor painting workflow, with the ability to ask questions as we go along. Material list will be provided in advance, as well as a bonus PDF breaking down how to prepare stretched paper and your pencil layer prior to the beginning of our live painting sessions.•Find clarity on how to render natural subjects with skill and precision. We will also be integrating granulation techniques that bring in some spontaneity. The subject of this workshop will be a cloudy beach painting. Additional workshops that explore how to paint other subjects will happen in the future.•Build your toolbox of art-making skills so that you can confidently express your own vision. The goal is not to replicate the way I paint, but to take the building blocks of my technique and expand on them for your own unique ideas.•Optional Extra: Personal feedback from Sam on your painting after each session sent to you via email to help further refine your understanding and application of techniques.
